Everyone Does Best – Stokesauce

I’ve just released a new song, and I’d love for you to hear it, share it and let me know what you think of it.

The name Everyone Does Best came about when I was thinking about being under the pump to get something done, (as I often leave things to the last minute).

I came to the conclusion that although it’s better to start something early and finish it in good time, there is also a beauty to doing something last minute, making it extremely stressful for yourself and those around you.

There’s nothing new under the sun, it’s simply another way of saying diamonds are made under pressure or something. When they need to, everyone does their best!

Even on the deadline of this song I was still getting final touches on the mix, and straight after that I was on the phone with a friend of mine getting artwork done at 12:00am, which was an unintentional ode to the message of this track. Again, not ideal, but… everyone does best

The track takes a twist towards the end (2:38), it becomes light hearted and fun. I knew when I was writing it that I wanted to have this switch up in the composition.

Thank you for being in my life, I’m glad to be able to share my art with you.

You can listen to the track here.

You can buy the track for $1 on bandcamp.

Everyone does Best

Stokesauce (Sunshine Sessions)

In my last show, I mention a group of cosmopolitan artists living in Noosa, and how Bakani and I were invited to be part of their first garden party sunshine session.

Sunshine Sessions Vol 1. (Julian and Bakani)

For those who enjoy the Stoke Sauce Radio Show, here are the results of a completely unrehearsed acoustic session that I spoke about in the show. I thought they did a great job with editing and production.

I have also been invited to perform with my band on the 29th of March at a much larger event in Noosa Junction.

Of particular interest is the fact that guests are strongly encouraged to leave their phones at the door at these events and be grounded in the event and to connect with the people at the event

Listeners of the Stokesauce Radio show you will be familiar with some of the interesting ideas and music I’ve been sharing between songs.

In episode twelve of the Stokesauce Radio Show, I tell a story about how much more productive I’ve become since I dropped my phone into the ocean. Yeah I’ve been without a phone for nearly two weeks and it’s been amazing

In episode eleven I speak of the current live music in my neighbourhood about what it is and what it could be. I share great music and some other ideas. I tell more stories about my music releases.

In episode 10 I speak about recording trumpet, relaxing at the beach. Some thoughts about using time well. How could you possibly go wrong with the sorts of music you’ll hear on the SSRS?

In episode 9 of the SSRS I’ve been helping my friends with their various productions, thoughts about emulated synthesizers and the importance of routine. More class A music and my thoughts about “Later with Jools Holland”.

In episode 8 * 2021-06-08 I share thoughts about Art, a visit over to the next village, making music, being busy or not busy! my AKAI synth/midi controller, and as usual, we let’s get into some music.

Stokesauce and the Vanilla Thriller

In episode seven of the Stokesauce Radio Show I tell a story about my first car “The Vanilla Thriller”, a classic 1982 Toyota HiAce Campervan which I bought it for a song, or rather a few songs since it was paid for with my busking money.

If you’re interested, the story of what it was like driving the “Thriller” appears in Episode 7 – 2021-06-29 of the Stoke Sauce Radio show, exactly 19 minutes into the 30 minute show.
