Tonite I featured 3 awesome bands:
- Red Martian — our SDF leader smj’s band! Please support Red Martian. Visit https://redmartian.com.
- Powderpaint — a newly discovered duo: James Cronin a.k.a. “j’heck” @firstname.lastname@example.org on Mastodon Social/@EnvGen on Twitter, and Shonalika Tilak @ShonalikaTilak on Twitter. The duo’s Mastodon account is @email@example.com and @powderpaint on Twitter. They are from Brighton, UK. James Cronin is also known as Envelope Generator. I saw James’ “80s Synth Medley – 3 Guys, 6 Keyboards” video on Youtube many years ago and I really loved it, and so I recognized him as soon as I saw a post on Mastodon about his new band Powderpaint and their newly released track “This Being” on Mastodon. You can watch the music video on Youtube. Please support the band by visiting their Bandcamp site https://powderpaint.bandcamp.com. James also made really cool synthpop tunes as Envelope Generator. Check out Envelope Generator’s Bandcamp site: https://envelopegenerator.bandcamp.com. DJ Sundog (Mastodon: @firstname.lastname@example.org) posted a really good review about the duo’s newly released track “This Being” here.
- Ladytron – Ladytron will be releasing a new album this year! The band needs our support by pre-ordering the digital copy of the album. Visit https://www.pledgemusic.com/projects/ladytron. I pre-ordered mine and so far I have received 2 tracks from the album: “The Animals” and “The Animals (Vince Clark Remix)” — both are awesome! So get yours now if you are a Ladytron fan!
I also would like to mention where I obtained my new background music while talking in between tracks — “Wide open Roland Juno 60 +106 +JX-8P” by Analog Synth Bedroom which I downloaded for free from Soundcloud. I really like this new background music. I usually do not have gaps between tracks while doing the show (i.e. non-stop, continuous play) but I felt I needed to talk a bit more in this show to introduce bands, songs, etc., and so I did not want to talk over the songs.
